Right from the pristine private clubs, to the prime public courses, the influence of Palm Springs is evident in the golfing world. A vast history of professional golf tournaments in the locality is traceable to the celebrity-laden grounds. The desert city enjoys a reputation founded on acting like a Hollywood playground. Palm Springs golf courses have hosted former United States presidents, in addition to a league of Hollywood stars.
When you're in Palm Springs, staying in one of Mod Mansions Palm Springs vacation rental homes, and surrounded by southern California's beautiful desert, consider spending some time in nature. One of the best nearby places to explore is Joshua Tree National Park. Named for the spiky yucca plant, Joshua Tree is less than an hour's drive from Palm Springs. This rugged park is popular with campers, climbers, and hikers, and it's also good for spotting birds, bighorn sheep, and other desert wildlife. There are trails that range from easy and short to long and challenging -- so choose one or two of these hikes for a desert adventure.
