Thanksgiving is one of the most traveled holiday periods of the year and also a time when we look forward to a huge feast with friends and family. While some enjoy hosting and preparing an enormous meal, others opt to eat out instead. Whether it's a tradition or you're simply looking to try something new this year, check out these upscale restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving in Palm Springs:

Copley's

The full title of Copley's on Palm Canyon better describes this beautiful restaurant located on Palm Canyon Drive with patio dining available. On Thanksgiving, their three-course feast includes a choice of appetizer, entree and a dessert sampler. Some of the many choices include roasted butternut squash soup, oven-roasted, free-range turkey with caramelized onions, sage and vegetable stuffing, whipped potatoes, giblet gravy, candied yams, asparagus and cranberry sauce.

Le Vallauris

The Le Vallauris restaurant is also a popular local caterer and is serving up all the traditional favorites on Thanksgiving. Their prix-fixe menu comes with an appetizer, main course and dessert featuring many holiday favorites such as local California roasted turkey with all the trimmings. Other options from their in-house menu include Maine lobster ravioli, roasted duck breast and tempting dessert choices of apple crumble pie, pumpkin creme brulee, trio sorbet or a chocolate profiterole.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Breathtaking views are part of the dining and riding during a memorable experience at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway restaurants and bar in Palm Springs. Ride n' Dine tickets include the tram trip up to the Pine Cafe serving a holiday meal with a mixed greens salad, choice of oven-roasted turkey, vegetarian lasagna or slow-roasted prime rib with a selection of side dishes. Available dessert options are old-fashioned carrot cake or pumpkin pie and they'll also be serving from their regular menu.

Arnold Palmer's Restaurant

Technically, Arnold Palmer's Restaurant isn't located in Palm Springs, but rather in nearby Las Quintas and it's worth the short drive for dining at "The King's" namesake eatery. Well known for their farm-to-fork dishes, the main course is a slow-roasted, free-range turkey with homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes, pan gravy, sautéed green beans and cranberry sauce. Other entree selections include slow-roasted Prime Rib, Roasted Maine Diver scallops and starters like a chilled jumbo shrimp cocktail or peppered strawberry salad are also fan favorites.
