Kids will love the Berger Youth Exploration Center, where they can experience what gravity feels like in an airplane, hear actual vintage audio from the cockpit of a B-17, communicate with the onsite Control Tower and Mohawk Simulator while using a headset and microphone on a vintage WWII radio console, and listen to the Control Tower of the Palm Springs International Airport from the museum's vintage WWII control console. It's a great learning experience for kids that's exciting and fun, too.
The Buddy Rogers Theatre shows documentaries daily about military aviation that include first-hand accounts with a focus on WWII. The museum also has a library with over 6,300 books about both American history and aviation. It's a fabulous resource for researchers, writers and history lovers alike.
There's plenty more in store too - you can actually take a ride on one of the warbirds, like the C-47 Skytrain or the P-51 Mustang. You can also attend special programs, like the Props & Hops Craft Beer Festival in November, where you'll enjoy sampling dozens of craft beers while watching warbirds take off and fly. There's live music, food and so much more to experience. Other programs include the Annual Memorial Day Flower Drop & Air Fair, the Santa Fly-In, and the Annual Gala.
