Palm Springs has a plethora of dining options, and "dinner in Palm Springs" brings an immediate image of tinkling martini glasses, elegance, and sophistication.

But if you're doing anything in Palm Springs, by all means do lunch! The options are many, whatever you're in the mood for, but of course, we have a few recommendations.

FARM

Liz Ostoich, the owner of Farm restaurant, says traveling through the south of France changed her life. She wants you to experience the same revelation, without the long airport lines. Farm serves simple yet delectable Provencal cuisine. Think omelets, salads, and sandwiches with a French flair. Try the Croque monsieur, a French café staple.

IL CORSO

Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily and has worked as a chef in the Mediterranean region. If fresh, authentic Italian food is what you're craving, there's fresh pasta, pizza from their wood-burning oven, and nightly specials, including world-class gnocchi. You can also indulge with scrumptious Italian desserts like Tiramisu and Panna Cotta, a heavenly vanilla bean custard with raspberries and a drizzle of strawberry sauce.

ZIN AMERICAN BISTRO

Zin American Bistro serves natural, hormone-free meat and fresh sustainable seafood. They also use locally sourced ingredients as often as possible, based on availability. Fresh, natural and authentic, with a California flair, the menu offers light fare light vegetable tartare, and hearty American classics are given an elegant finish, like XXX mac and cheese with Fiscalini white cheddar and truffle oil. Located in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, they live up to their name with a truly comprehensive wine list.

WILMA & FREIDA'S

Sometimes, you just need brunch. Wilma & Freida's give brunch a funky California twist. Blackberry custard French toast, anyone? Or if you want something heartier, there's Bennie's chili Verde with pork and brie omelet. And of course, you can build your own omelet. And if you're going gluten-free, you're in luck, because Wilma & Freida's can do that with pancakes.

These are just a few of the many options available if you're looking for lunch in Palm Springs. Bring a friend, and bring an appetite!
