A bright new tradition burst upon Palm Canyon Drive in December of 1992 - the annual Palm Springs Holiday Festival of Lights Parade - and it quickly became one of the most popular and beloved local events.

Held the first Saturday in December, the parade was born in the spirit of community, when a small group of people wanted to bring the holiday spirit to life for locals and visitors alike. The event is so unique and celebrated that it now attracts over 100,000 people from all over the world every year. It's consistently voted as one of the Top Ten Holiday Parades in the entire country as well as one of the best events in Coachella Valley.

The parade's floats are studded with thousands of colorful lights along with huge balloons similar to those in the famous Macy's parade. Among the featured attractions are Snoopy and his Peanuts pals, the Budweiser Clydesdales, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, marching bands, performing groups and the highly anticipated piece de resistance - Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

The parade kicks off at 5:45 in the evening and ends at approximately 7:30 PM - bring your lawn chairs and set up early along the 1.25 miles of the parade route between Ramon Road and Tamarisk Road; there's very limited public bleacher seating. There will be a Reviewing Stand for dignitaries and parade sponsors at the intersection of Amado Road and Palm Canyon Drive. Bring jackets or layers in anticipation of cooler evening temperatures.

Make your visit truly memorable by reserving a luxury Palm Springs property early to make this signature community event even more spectacular.
