*Every Thursday night until 10-pm in downtown Palm Springs the streets are closed to traffic and converted into a thriving jubilee called Village Fest, with over 180 vendors. They feature arts, food, crafts, and entertainment.
*If you want some gorgeous desert views before the sun goes down, check out the Moxie Rooftop bar and lounge at 262 S Palm Canyon Dr. Happy hour is every afternoon from 4-7p.
*If you are feeling lively, stop by the infamous Zeldas Nightclub at 611 South Canyon Drive. A high energy club that attracts the young and beautiful. Something is always happening there. They feature a DJ, an upstairs lounge, and neon lights. They have been known to invite male strippers which attract large groups of women. Music is from the 2000's with occasional techno music. RSVP is suggested.
*If you want to dance the night away, check out the Cascade Lounge at the Spa Resort and Casino at 401 East Amado St. in Palm Springs. They boast great sounds and lighting so beware of the packed dance floor. On Friday nights they have a DJ. Sunday nights are Latin night. If you're feeling lucky, you can stick around and play one of their slot machines or table games.
*Don't miss "The Show" at Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage...it's the happening place for concerts and live entertainment. A unique venue with a variety of shows you won't want to miss. If you enjoy illusionists and magic, "The Clairvoyants" will be on hand to mesmerize you on December 8th, or bring in your New Year with a blast from the past, "KC and The Sunshine Band" on December 31st starting at 10:30 PM. There is something for everyone at "The Show".
*After breakfast, you can head out to one of the 100 finest golf courses in North America that are in this area, or go for a hike. There are over 20 miles of mountain trails for hiking and biking where you will see waterfalls and vista views. If you have shopping on your mind, head to the El Paseo shopping district, which is about 2 miles from downtown for over 300 world-class shops and luxury boutiques.
After all that excitement, you are probably getting hungry. Time to head back to town and take a look at a couple of the top-rated restaurants in Palm Springs.
*The Purple Palm. This restaurant is inside a historical hotel. The restaurant is charming and offers poolside seating. I hear it is a great place to take a date. Seared scallops and smoked pork belly, pan roasted salmon, grilled quail, are a few of their menu items.
*El Mirasol. Authentic Mexican cuisine since 1985. Handmade corn tortillas that are made fresh daily. You might want to try their shrimp, scallops or chicken in pipian sauce. They are known for their friendly service and relaxing outdoor atmosphere. They have two locations in Palm Springs.
This list is an insignificant sampling of the restaurants, casinos, bars, concerts, and outdoor events that are within minutes from downtown Palm Springs. Oh did I mention biking, golf, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, and tennis? Don't forget, it's swim weather all year round in here!
