It's time to make plans and reserve your Palm Springs vacation rental for the Greater Palm Springs Pride weekend. A nonprofit community enhancement organization founded to promote the public education and awareness of individual rights and civil liberties of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and to promote the history, diversity and future prosperity of the Greater Palm Springs LGBTQ community. Each year, the organization puts together a fantastic festival that takes place in Downtown Palm Springs. This year, the free event takes place November 4-5, 2017.  

The annual Pride Festival features a unique collection of artists, entertainers, and purveyors that provide a wide range of items such as jewelry, snacks, beverages, and sweets. There will be musical performances, tons of delicious food vendors, DJs, dancing, exhibitors set up for your enjoyment. Here are some can’t miss features of the festival and weekend: 

  • The Children’s Headquarters(C-HQ) provides arts, crafts, games, complimentary snacks and drinks, a nap area and a clean port-a-potty complete with diaper changing station.
  • The Youth Zone is the hub for LGBT, questioning and ally youth (ages 14-21) at the Pride Festival. It features space for relaxation, games, drawing, make-up as well as free food and drinks.
  • The 2017 Palm Springs Pride Parade takes place on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 10:00 am. It will travel south along Palm Canyon Drive from Uptown to Downtown Palm Springs. The parade is free and all are invited to attend!
  • The Palm Springs Front Runners have organized a 5K Run and Walk which takes place on Saturday, November 4, 2017. The race begins at Palm Canyon Drive at West Chino Drive and takes racers through the Old Las Palmas neighborhood for a total distance of 3.1 miles. Each participant will receive a colorful microfiber t-shirt and all finishers will receive a commemorative medal. This year, The LGBT Center of the Desert is the designated race beneficiary; more information about The Center can be found by visiting their website. The Race begins at 8:00 am and registration is available online in advance or on the day of the race from 6:30am-7:45 am.
