Butterflies! Winged Wonders - This habitat features 300 colorful butterflies from more than thirty species. Interactive exhibits illustrate metamorphosis from egg to butterfly, and visitors can also learn about the conservation efforts for these amazing creatures.
Giraffe Feedings - If feeding giraffes is on your bucket list, you can cross it off at The Living Desert. This unique experience costs five dollars, and you'll feed these tall animals pieces of lettuce.
North America - As you meander through the North America exhibit, you will see an array of animals, including those that are mainly active under the moon's glow. They include coyotes, mountain lions, and bobcats. The botanical gardens within this area represent the flora found in North American deserts.
Desert Willow - Desert Willow is a tree native to the Coachella Valley. The trees flower from early April through the fall months, and the fragrant, orchard-like blossoms range in color from white to pink to burgundy.
This is just a small sample of what The Living Desert has to offer visitors of all ages. You can also ride a camel, take a spin on the Endangered Species Carousel, and so much more.
