Save the Date: AAP – Food Samaritans Evening Under the Stars 2020
AAP – Food Samaritans' Evening Under the Stars will celebrate its 27th year on May 2, 2020. Palm Springs' biggest fundraiser event of the year will have an extended cocktail hour, awards, dinner, fireworks, dancing and more.
Keeping in line with tradition, the event will be held at the O'Donnell Golf Club.
27th annual Evening Under the Stars gala will feature the music of Elton John in a show titled “Almost Elton John” starring Craig A. Meyer and featuring the Rocket Band.
Tickets for 2020's gala are now available. Event sponsors will be invited to an exclusive cocktail reception prior to the gala.
Last year's event had more than 100 tables, each with their own servers ensuring that guests wanted for nothing.
Evening Under the Stars is one of the biggest events of the year in Palm Springs, with past galas featuring the talents of Jane Oliver, Nell Carter, Suzanne Somers, Melissa Manchester, Bea Arthur, Barry Manilow and more.
The event welcomed the iconic Gladys Knight for its 25th Anniversary celebration in 2018.
AAP – Food Samaritans is an organization committed to supporting the nutritional needs of low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic diseases, such as cancer, liver disease and MS.
Each month, the organization distributes food vouchers to clients, who are carefully screened to verify their residency and income. Clients live on incomes of less than $18,090 per year. Food vouchers are valid for all items, with the exception of tobacco, alcohol or pet products.
The mission of AAP – Food Samaritans is to ensure that affected members of the community can continue living their lives with dignity.
The organization, which is led by a volunteer board of directors, raises all of its funds through private donations, events, foundation grants, and support from the local community.
Since its founding, AAP – Food Samaritans has helped more than 2,300 clients and distributed more than $10 million in client services.
