Traveling is probably the most fun you'll have all year. After you've decided which vacation rental to make your home, you'll want to explore what makes Palm Springs tick!  Although the desert oasis is best-known for its golf, swimming, tennis, biking, hiking, and horseback riding in the nearby desert, the city is also known for its mid-century modern architecture, design elements, and arts and cultural scene.

The new restaurant Tac/Quila brings Mexico's mid-mod style to downtown Palm Springs. Owners Liz and Mark Ostoich, aim to add Mexican flair to the mid-century modern architecture for which downtown Palm Springs is known. The restaurant's unique name Tac/Quila is the owner's made-up word for combining gourmet Jalisco style cuisine with specialty tequilas bringing the guests south of the border and into a culture rich in flavor, color, art, and authenticity.

If your mood screams for the more familiar, right in the middle of downtown Palm Springs sits the popular Tommy Bahama! The laid-back outdoor space keeps its guests cool with mists of water on hot days and provides heaters on cool evenings.  Tommy Bahama's Marlin Bar is the ideal relaxed atmosphere for a perfect vacation. Unwind with a cocktail and enjoy some light fare, or treat yourself to organic soft-serve ice cream.

A visit to Palm Springs wouldn't be complete without satisfying your sweet tooth! Located in downtown Palm Springs, Balboa Candy Store is where you can experience the fun and nostalgia of a real "Old Fashioned" candy Store. Balboa Candy is best known as having one of the largest selection of saltwater taffy in the world. If taffy doesn't "pull" on your cravings, the vintage shop specializes in all types of retro candies like wax lips, wax bottles, and Razzles. So whether it's a bag of saltwater taffy or another piece of Nostalgic Candy, come and experience some old-time candy favorites!
