Horseback Riding - Palm Springs Horseback Riding - Palm Springs

Take the trails less traveled and discover the hidden natural beauty of Palm Springs in a way that can only be described as exhilarating and breathtaking - stay in one of our Palm Springs vacation rentals and make sure to take a guided tour by horseback. See canyons, waterways, flora and fauna as well as ancient tribal lands at a leisurely pace while your guide leads you safely along well-established trails.

Don't worry about being a skilled rider - all stables are highly safety-conscious and offer rides for everyone, whether it's your first time on a horse or you're an experienced rider. And you can choose from different types of trails and varied lengths of your ride, all led by experienced guides. Here are just a few of the stables in the Palm Springs area:

A family-owned and operated business since 1927, Smoke Tree Stables is located near Smoke Tree Mountain in southern Palm Springs. With over 150 miles of trails just outside their property, your guide will lead you through historic Agua Caliente Indian Canyons and along trails where you'll see everything from native palms to desert oases. Rides are offered by the hour or for the entire day, or you can book a private ride and go deep into the canyon.

Coyote Ridge Stable offers several guided ride options. Your private tour of Lizard Rock is an exploration of the serene mountains with beautiful vistas - go yourself or bring family and friends. The Coyote Creek and Quail Canyon rides are of different durations, but you'll see wildlife, wade through creeks and be introduced to desert plant life. For something different, how about a moonlight ride under the stars, only offered when the moon is full. Experienced equestrians can enjoy an adventurous trail-blazing ride through varied terrains.

Enjoy a high-desert experience at Joshua Tree Ranch, located at the gateway to Joshua Tree National Park. Perfect for beginner and intermediate riders, you can enjoy group or private guided rides lasting one or two hours in length. These equestrian trails will take you along the Black Rock Canyon bottom, through open lands and more. Plus you'll discover the fascinating history of the Joshua Tree community and the national park, from the gold mining days of the mid-1800s to ranching and conservation in the present day.

For any type of ride you choose, all you need to do is bring a camera to capture those many memorable moments during your ride, and prepare for an exciting yet relaxing experience unlike any other.
