For the 7th year now, Palm Springs has been hosting the Props & Hops Craft Beer Fest in partnership with its Air Museum. This year it's taking place on November 17th, from 1pm to 5pm. Pop open a beer and take a look at what's in the sky.

In the Cup…

There are some great breweries being showcased, but here are a few that stand out in the local California scene. King Harbor, hailing from Redondo Beach, CA, has a tendency to brew some great brown ales. They are usually on the mild side with chocolately and coffee undertones- perfect for a fall day outside. Oceanside is represented by the Belching Beaver- known for excellent stouts with strange flavors like peanut butter and macadamia. If you are into IPAs, don't worry! Stone Church, from San Marcos, has you covered with the golden child of craft beer. And for something a bit more unique, Corona's The Lost Abbey's collection of complex and sour wild ales will have you puckering up for more.

In the Sky…

The sleekest and most impressive piece of machinery you will see is the P-51 Mustang. It's the classic looking single-seated bomber seen throughout World War II and the Korean War. It had also been widely used throughout the world by the British, Australian, Chinese and Israeli air forces. Another classic aircraft, the C-47 SkyTrain, will also make an appearance. This baby is also known as "The Gooney Bird" because it looks so silly and was used to transport military personnel on the famous D-Day. The true Hollywood star of the show is the B-25 Executive Sweet which had a role in the vintage film Catch 22 after being discovered as a crop duster in Texas. Quite a company!

In your Hand...

Prices are varied but fair! General Admission tickets are $40 ($50 at the door) and include a souvenir tasting glass and 8 tickets for 4oz. flight pours. For something a bit more substantial, you can purchase VIP tickets for $75 and get an extra hour of drinking with 12 tasting tickets, food pairings and rare kegs from your very own Props & Hops beer stein. To elevate your afternoon even more, you can spring for the $1,895 package that includes the VIP ticket and a 1-hour flight experience in the P-51 Mustang fighter plane. If you are unsure, you can decide the day of with flights on the SkyTrain, which was once a Military VIP transport! That's you, right?

Make sure you book these tickets early. It's going to be a wonderful afternoon of planes, beers, and food in the deserts of Palm Springs!
